Book Systems wanted to create an OPAC search strategy that took advantage of a
child's ability to sort and remember. KidZviZ was the result.
KidZviZ is powered by its People-Places-Things search index, which
allows children to associate logical image association with terminology and training
that they've received in the classroom. They are presented with colorful and humorous
icons that represent selections from within the library. All
that is required is the willingness to click.
It's point and click interface creates a world through which kids with a wide range of
reading skills can navigate. Unlike other visual navigation systems,
everything fits in a way kids can quickly grasp and return to again and again.
